All Play and No Work

[Marcus]

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait a minute!" Marcus said quickly, taking a couple of steps back as he did. Clearly the tension was greater than he thought. As the clear outsider of the situation, Marcus was more than in the dark about their relationship. Friendship. Whatever it was. "We should just try to get along, right? I mean, if we're all in this place we're going to have to be friendly since I figure we're the only ones in this particular place at the moment." Marcus stated, trying to be reasonable.

...Who was he kidding? He didn't have a clue about what he was trying to do, and certainly didn't understand any rivalry the two deer felt for one another. The poor, naive kit could only watch as whatever happened unfolded before him after his attempt at trying to bring order. Oh, Kara, where are you? he thought. Kara surely would be able to talk sense into the two. She had a way with words that Marcus lacked.

[Flash]

The first thing Flash was aware of when conciousness returned to her was the pain. A sharp, aching pain in her chest. Opening her eyes - to find that she was still in the forest - she let out a painful groan and rolled onto her side. It bothered her that Tally was still nowhere in site, but she could only assume that the strange light she'd seen hadn't claimed her as well - or else, she was on a different part of what Flash assumed was an island.

She didn't want to get up. The pain in her chest hurt - if she'd known more about that sort of thing, she'd have realised that she'd broken a rib in the fall. Of course, she couldn't just lie here, either. Risking raising her voice - although having no idea who or what she'd encounter - she called out "I-is anyone else here? Hello?"

[Marcus]

Marcus' ears flicked, picking of the sound of someone calling and asking if anyone was there. "Did you guys hear that?" he asked Chinook and Geno. Marcus raised his head slightly, trying to see if he could hear anything else, but he heard nothing new. "It sounded like someone asking if anyone else was here. Maybe we should check it out." Marcus suggested. He took a few steps forward in the direction he heard the call, but stopped when he realized he should wait for Chinook and Geno to determine if they would come with him or not.

"Yeah, I'm here! Just hang tight for now! We're coming!" he called to whoever had called before. The voice sounded female, but not like Kara's. It was a different girl, he was sure.

[Flash]

Well, someone was here, and they sounded reasonably friendly, if unfamiliar. Still, Flash couldn't help but wonder what she was getting herself into now. Fighting the pain, she levered herself up into a sitting position, so she wouldn't be found lying on her side like a dead animal.

[Elanna]

Elanna turned one the spot for the fourth time. Still no sign of her brothers. Where were they? They couldn't have went far because they had been right beside her. The golden cub's ears pressed against her skull in fear. She needed to know her brothers were safe.

"Ghamu! Zimui! Faraji!" she yelled "Anyone! Ghamu! Faraji! Zimui!"

The young lioness felt more scared than she'd ever been before. She'd never been without at least one of her older brothers, Ghamu or Faraji were always there for her and Zimui had a love of teasing her but she knew he loved her too, she couldn't be alone in this strange place.

"I'm lost." she muttered as she lay down on the soft forest floor and curled up into a small golden ball of fur.

[Flash]

Wait... was that...? That voice... but what would she be doing here?

Flash didn't attempt to rise again - not with the pain she was in - however she did turn in the voice's direction. "Elanna? Is that... is that you?"

She desperately hoped it was. That way, at least there would be somebody she knew in this strange new place.

[Elanna]

Elanna looked up, she knew that voice...it wasn't her brothers but it was the next best thing...her best friend. The pom dalmatian cross pup that she hadn't seen in what felt like an eternity...was Ace and Thunder here too? Had Flash maybe seen her missing brothers?

"Flash?" she called back tentitively.

The young lioness pushed herself to her paws once more, she began to head in the direction Flash's voice had come from, not knowing exactly where she would end up.

[Flash]

It had to be her! Flash's face lit up enthusiastically at the prospect of seeing her friend again. "Elanna! I'm over here!" she called out, making to stand - and collapsing in a heap again as the motion jarred her broken rib painfully.

"...right over here..." she mumbled, face now half pressed to the ground. "Just as soon as I can get up again..."

[Kara]

It was at that moment that a second fox kit decided to make her presence known. She'd had enough of being lost and, after spending some time curled up in a little ball hidden in a bush, decided she ought to try and find her way around. Kara left the safety of her bush at last, only to be greeted by the sight of a lion cub and a white dog with golden colored spots. Her first reaction was to want to hide, but without Marcus around there was no one to defend her. So, plucking up what little courage she had, Kara padded toward the dog. After her first encounter with a canine before arriving on the island she was more than a little afraid, but the dog didn't look like she meant her any harm. It didn't even look like she could get up...

"H-Hey... are... are you okay?" Kara asked softly. Her ears instinctively went back against her head, nervousness beginning to overcome her. No, you're fine Kara. She won't hurt you. She won't. Don't worry so much. she thought.

[Flash]

Hearing a new voice - this one unfamiliar - Flash instinctively froze, turning her head just enough to take in who was speaking to her. When she saw it was simply a young fox, the pup noticably relaxed.

"I guess." she replied awkwardly, rolling onto her back again, and wincing in pain as she did. "Or maybe not." she admitted with a resigned sigh. "I think I broke something in the fall." she eyed the fox cautiously. She didn't like to depend on strangers, but in this case... well, she didn't want Elanna to worry about her too much when she saw her.

"Could you help me up?" she asked.

[Kara]

Kara visibly relaxed seeing Flash wouldn't hurt her. Her ears went back into their normal position as she finally nodded. She could try to help. "Sure... I'll see what I can do." Kara replied. Let's see... leaves, dirt, trees... I can't work with any of this. she thought as she glanced about at the surrounding area. What could she use to help Flash to her feet? ...How about herself? Yeah! Kara thought that would be a decent enough idea, even though she barely knew this young dog and wasn't very strong she thought maybe she could prop her up. Kara went to Flash's side, ready to support her weight as best she could. "Okay, on the count of three try to stand. You... you can lean against me for support if you want." Kara instructed. She just hoped someone would follow her advice for once. Then again, this wasn't Marcus. It was a complete stranger, so the chances were about as good, but she didn't think it hurt trying to help.

"One, two... three." she said after a moment, bracing herself for Flash to do as instructed. She could only hope she was strong enough to support the puppy.

[Wendy]

Wendy groaned. She was covered in dirt and mud and had no idea how to get out. The kitten heard voices up ahead. "Hello?" she called, British accent riging clear. "Anyone over here?"

[Swafi]

Of all the rotten LUCK. Now that the shock had worn off, Swafi was hopping mad. He was stalking through the woods in a huff. Now he was WHO KNOWS WHERE in the middle of NOWHERE and that brat Athari was home in the Pridelands! Who knows what could happen during the time he was gone?! Mom and Dad would surely choose Athari over him now!
Grumbling to himself, Swafi stopped at the sound of several voices up ahead. Several unfamiliar voices. "Hello? Who's that?!" He continued on, without worry or fear in a foolish way, which under normal circumstances might have gotten him in trouble.
"Do you know where we are?!" He called or demanded rather, "Cuz if you do you better find a way to help me get back to the Pridelands, PRONTO!!" He passed a tree and nearly stumbled upon the young dog and fox. For a moment he stared at the two other animals in stupefied surprise. And then he remembered himself. "What are you laying around for? Get up!" He yelled at Flash callously, "Don't you realize we're all in trouble?!"

[Kara]

And with the appearance of Swafi, Kara couldn't help but let out a startled little yelp before retreating to the supposed safety of behind Flash. Well, that certainly went well. The timid little fox barely peaked out from behind Flash, not quite sure what to make of Swafi. If it was possible, her ears went back farther against her head than before as she looked over Swafi. Oh, where was Marcus when she needed him?

"S-Sorry... I... I was just trying to... to help her up..." Kara whimpered.

[Cupid]

"What for?" Swafi wrinkled his nose in disgust before the realization struck him. His arrogant prideful expression melted off, replaced by a for once concerned expression. "....Is she hurt?" He hadn't realized that...
Slowly the cub sat down, really taking in the sight of the fox and the puppy for the first time. She DID look like she was in pain...
